Graphic design uses visual compositions to solve problems and communicate ideas through typography, imagery, colour and form.

The elements of graphic design are, Balance, Emphasis, Movement, Pattern, Repetition, Proportion, Rhythm, Variety and Unity.

Colours can be categorised by a colour wheel or chart. This can be used by putting one dark colour for example dark blue and then putting that at the top of a list then adding the other colours going down from the darkest to the lightest shade of that colour.
